Eastside Road, January 12, 2010—
Lindsey made this lasagna* thirty-nine days ago; tonight we had the last of it, alas. It's been kept frozen these five weeks, and it hasn't suffered a bit. All she had to do is warm it up in the toaster oven.Lasagne alla Bolognese: pasta, Bolognese (minced beef and flavorings), béchamel. It is an utterly insinuating, delicious, captivating dish, one of the Hundred. Green salad, of course.
Nero d'Avola
*Lasagna is the singular form of the noun; in Italy it's always referred to in the plural, "lasagne," but I can't bring myself to write "this lasagne", and "these lasagne" doesn't seem to make sense.
