PETRUCHIO REJECTS EVERYTHING served to his Kate, but I was happy with everything we brought to an outdoor performance of The Taming of the Shrew tonight. Gaye made "finger sandwiches," little ham and turkey sandwiches on crustless bread (she assured me she'd kept the crusts for croutons, later). She and John brought hardboiled eggs, too, and a couple of bottles of Sauvignon blanc.We brought along the last of Becky's olives, absolutely delicious, and almonds, and Pink Pearl apples (gotta stay ahead of that fruit!). It was all delicious. I'm not ashamed that eating is so simple.
