Siracusa, May 23, 2010—
WE KNEW OF a place in a country town not far from Modica that was said to be fun on a Sunday, and after half an hour's search, and an hour's wait in a nearby café because you don't eat Sunday lunch until one o'clock at the earliest, we put the place to the test:
Antipasto: Foccaccias and olives
Pasta: gnochetti and ricotta ravioli, with tomato sauce, sausage, and knuckle-bones; with fresh ricotta
Secondo: Braised rabbit with potatoes, carrots, and peppers
Dolce: melon, oranges, and apples, with lemon gelatin
Very pleasant room and setting, no menu, set meal, nice linen, good food.
