IT SOUNDS SO MUCH nicer in French, don't you think? Leftovers. We began tonight with a bowl of last night's soup, and I can tell you how it was made: brown little cubes of bacon in a skillet; remove them and brown onions and carrot, diced; combine them with split peas that you've soaked and cooked; flavor with salt, pepper, lemon thyme, and bay; scatter with croutons and the bacon pieces.Then it was on to turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce. Green salad, of course.
Last night we finished with vanilla ice cream with applesauce; tonight pie is promised…
